like a softly faded photo

a gentle breeze rustling through the trees

the warm glow on a sun kissed cheek

flowers opening with the caress of morning dew

how my heart flutters while being looked at by you

the refreshing scent of chestnuts roasting on the open fire

the crisp clean vision of the new fallen snow

the clouds dancing in the sky on a beautiful bright sunny day

the calming twinkle of lights glowing around a decorated Christmas tree

the joy that fills my heart as you smile knowing I love you

I find out months later was married

funny he thought I’d never find out

but these were my original thoughts

A smile I can stare at for hours

a tone that sooths me

was it in another time or place

I see such familiarity in your eyes

wise beyond your years

a touch that’s ever so gentle

you stare at me dreamily

and yet my cheeks don’t burn with fear

every time we talk

I yearn for what will be said next

I feel we shouldn’t ever say goodbye

hugs are so soft and protective

holding your hand

seems like magic

feels like dejavu

we’ve done this dance

somewhere in another life before

I long to see you

too hear your voice

to see your face

where have we met?

I know we’ve done it all before

everything we do is our the first time

but then again, we’ve done nothing
